On 30 September 2024, the Auditorium of the Congress Centre of the TecnoCampus hosted the presentation of the second edition of the Ludi Awards, aimed at students of higher education in video game development in Catalonia.
These awards, organised by the digital content platform 3Cat in collaboration with the videogame incubation programme GameBCN, aimed to promote young talent, offering students a unique opportunity to showcase their skills in front of leading companies in the sector in Barcelona. In this edition, the participants had to create a video game prototype that, in a playful way, helped to showcase Catalan as a rich, useful and lively language.
The winners were eligible for prizes such as a trip to the Gamescom 2025 and Devcom 2025 fairs, as well as personalised mentoring by professionals from the sector. During the first edition, held last year, 24 prototypes developed by 79 students from seven different schools were presented. One of the outstanding projects, ‘Aerial’, was published on the 324.cat platform. This second edition consolidated the Ludi Awards as a key initiative to promote innovation and talent in the video game sector in Catalonia.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for 14 November at the Casino de la Alianza del Poblenou in Barcelona. The Ludi Awards are part of 3Cat’s Strategic Plan to position itself as a benchmark in the world of video games and connect creators with the public through innovative and creative proposals.
