On 3 December, the Foyer of the Tecnocampus Congress Centre was the setting for the International 3D Day, held as part of the 2nd Annual XARFA Conference.
During this day, experts and leading companies in the sector explored the challenges and opportunities offered by additive manufacturing in key areas such as Industry 4.0 and healthcare.
Attendees enjoyed a varied and enriching programme that combined keynote speeches, round tables and networking moments. One of the highlights was the presentation by Timo Führer, leader in polymer technologies at AMPower, who shared his vision on international trends and the challenges of additive manufacturing. Also noteworthy was the intervention of Eva Vidal, representing the UPC, who focused on sustainability and how to adapt these technologies to a world in constant evolution. In addition, the two round tables provided spaces for debate and reflection. The first dealt with topics such as metal 3D printing and best practices for its adoption. The second was dedicated to the advances and challenges of 3D technology in the healthcare sector, with a special focus on safety, regulation and protection of intellectual property.
The day concluded with a networking space, where attendees were able to establish connections with other professionals in the sector.
Finally, participants had the opportunity to visit ThinkIn 3D, where they were able to see practical examples of 3D printing up close. This event highlights the key role of the Tecnocampus as a meeting point for innovation and knowledge in the field of additive manufacturing, a fast-growing sector that is shaping the future of several industries.
