This month of February, the Tecnocampus Congress Center has been recognized for its commitment to tourism sustainability by obtaining the Biosphere certification. This recognition granted in the delivery of certifications to companies, entities and tourist services of the commitment for tourism sustainability Biosphere, accredits compliance with good practices to ensure a more responsible tourism model aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 agenda.
The “Commitment to sustainable tourism in the Barcelona Biosphere areas” is a programme promoted by the Barcelona Provincial Council, aimed at companies, services and public entities that want to improve their management in tourism sustainability and strengthen their positioning as a destination. This certification ensures that the participating entities implement responsible practices in key areas such as climate change, environment, social, economic and cultural aspects.
The Tecnocampus Congress Centre and the services it offers have been recognized as “Congress Hall” within the methodology of the program, overcoming a diagnosis of the degree of sustainability, a plan for continuous improvement and verification of their commitment to sustainability.
Obtaining the Biosphere seal brings multiple advantages to the Tecnocampus Congress Centre, consolidating it as a reference space for corporate events and sustainable congresses in northern Barcelona. This initiative is aligned with the objectives of the Tecnocampus 2027 strategic plan, which seeks to boost business tourism and make Mataró a reference in sustainable congresses.
